If you're just getting started with our Cyberpunk 2077 guide, then you may be looking for some tips and tricks to help get your adventures in Night City underway. Fortunately, we've compiled a list of everything you need to know before getting started with the game below. Be sure to read through this thoroughly before you get started.

Take your time

Our first big tip for playing Cyberpunk 2077? Take. Your. Time. There's so much to see and do in Night City that the initial hours of your adventure can be completely overwhelming. There are loads of systems and mechanics to wrap your head around right from the word go, but don't worry — things will start to click eventually, once you're gotten used to the constant buzz of this dominating metropolis.

Take your time and enjoy the sights. Take a walk around the block, or hop in your car and just drive around while listening to the radio. Try to immerse yourself in the game's world before you start wrestling with all of those quests and characters.

Experiment

You may start playing Cyberpunk 2077 with your head full of ideas. You may think that you know exactly what kind of character you want to play as — and that's fine — but take our advice and experiment every now and then.

You might be a fan of pistols and revolvers, but have you even tried wielding a katana, or going crazy with a shotgun? There are loads of weapon types and subsequent styles of play to uncover in Night City, and even if you're just testing the waters, we promise that the experience will be worthwhile. Who knows? You might even find a new favourite.

Check out all the sensitivity options

Not a fan of how gameplay feels in Cyberpunk 2077? Having trouble hitting a target? You may want to check out the game's numerous sensitivity options that are buried in the settings menu. These options run much deeper than they do in most other games, allowing you to tweak dead zones and calibrate how quickly you want the camera to swing.

Playing around with these settings is the best way to find your ideal setup, and if you happen get it totally wrong, you can always hit the "reset to default values" button and start over. Definitely worth checking out if the game feels even a tiny bit off.
